Those who think it is permissible to tell white lies soon grow colour-blind.
-Austin O’Malley
Humans are prone to lying and dishonesty. There has been little empirical research into how frequently people lie until lately. According to a 2004 Reader's Digest poll, 96 percent of individuals admit to lying at least occasionally.
Use of the non-dominant hand to accentuate comments, shifty eye movements, instability in their stance, and asymmetrical indicators such as head tilting are all tell-tale signs of lying, according to body language experts Tonya Reiman and Patti Wood.
Firstly, usage of the non-dominant hand to punctuate strong sentences might be an indicator that the person is lying to you. According to Reiman, "Our bodies want to be honest, however, our words are what others hear. To challenge that, our bodies will try to leak the deception out. Look for the signals of strong words with the non-dominant hand”. Secondly, shifty eye movements could also be a strong indicator of a person feeding you with lies as several studies show that people tend to continually look left and right while not telling the truth. Furthermore, during public speaking speakers might shift their entire body weight to one leg and stand asymmetrically if they are oblivious to what they are saying or if they are lying. Lastly, a cocked head may tell you all that there is to know as it is one of the strongest indicators of a person lying.
Therefore, by looking out for the above-mentioned signs and signals you can make a clear judgment about whether or not someone is being deceptive.
